Getting Google Photos to Work!
We agreed at our meeting in January that:
Google Photos is our preferred method to share photos as it can be used across all devices, it does not require any apps to be loaded, and it is private. All club members need to be able to upload their photographs into the shared club folder in Google Photos.
The aim of this post is to troubleshoot everyone's efforts to get onto Google Photos. It should only take a few minutes of your time. There are 2 steps:
Step 1 - Check your Google ID and password
You need to know:
- Your GoogleID user name (this is often your email address)
- Your GoogleID password (unless you are using a gmail email account, this should (?must) not be the same as your email password)
What to do:
You will either see a welcome screen, indicating you are already logged into your Google ID, or you will see a login dialogue box:

Log in Dialogue Box |
You should now see the welcome page:
![]() |
Google welcome page |
If you do not get here you probably need to reset your Google ID password and try again.
Step 2 - Open the Upload Folder
Step 2 is even easier. Click this button:
Let me know if the Upload folder opens.
Now try and upload a photo. Hint look for the "Add Photos" button, it is different depending which browser of computer you are using.
