August Assignment Update = People

 Hello everybody, just a gentle nudge to get some photos for our monthly assignment taken and shared online via Google photos.  

I have been experimenting with off camera flash for this one but am having technical problems getting the settings right.  I need the on camera flash to fire in order to trigger the  off camera flash but this keeps overexposing the subject.  It must be "finger trouble" as I think both flash and camera are working correctly!

So I reverted to the iPhone in order to have something for you in this update.

If in doubt try a self portrait - taken on iPhone mounted on a tripod and connoted to Black and White in Lightroom.

Thank you to Robin for his submission which can be viewed in Google photos by clicking on this link or the heading above.  Robin has interpreted the brief differently from my inexpert attempt at a portrait above.  He has photographed people within their environment; I particularly like the way the 2 pictures taken on board his cruise ship potray the sheer size of the ship without showing the ship itself.

Both these approaches are equally valid for this month's assignment.
