Project 22 - Dandelions
Conscious that I am falling behind in my, supposedly 1 per week project I decided to create a set of 4 photographs demonstrating the effects of different viewpoints on the composition of the final image. I set about photographing dandelions on the lawn in front of our apartment but the stirling efforts of the gardeners mean the dandelions are so short I could not get underneath the take the skyward image I had in mind as the final composition.
So I opted to concentrate on the shallow depth of field I could create looking at a single dandelion through my 100mm Macro lens at different object distances. Using a large aperture (f2.8) with the camera close to the ground created a great out of focus effect in the predominantly green background.
I then processed the images to desaturate the green colour in order to give the seed head more prominence in the view and to create an overall look linking the 4 pictures.
